Sephiria spent a year in Early Access (from April 2025) before its 1.0 launch on July 31, 2026, adding a sixth and final chapter plus more content. As a deeply build-driven roguelite, it has a long tail of "how do Artifacts and Tablets work / what weapon should I pick" searches — exactly the gaps this guide fills.

What Is Sephiria?

The core idea, in plain English.

Sephiria is a pixel-art, top-down action roguelite. On the Day of Destiny, a terrible omen strikes Bunnyville: unless you act, the bunny villagers will be slaughtered by a horde of demons. You play a brave bunny who descends a constantly collapsing tower, fighting downward through procedurally shifting floors to uncover and stop the threat at the journey's end.

The hook is the build system. You collect Artifacts that grant effects just by being owned, and Tablets that empower the Artifacts placed next to them on a grid — so arranging your inventory is as important as combat. Runs are replayable: each descent randomizes floors, enemies, and loot, and you unlock new Talents every run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common player questions.

Is Sephiria a Zelda-like or a roguelite?

It's a top-down action roguelite: each descent randomly generates floors, enemies, and loot, with permanent Talent unlocks between runs. The combat is action-first (dash, parry, kite), not a puzzle-driven Zelda.

Which weapon should a beginner pick?

Start with a greatsword-class weapon (like the Carrot Greatsword): wide sweeps hit multiple enemies, have a small reposition, and the highest mistake tolerance. Avoid daggers early — high burst but little defense. Prioritize attack speed; around 140% it feels much smoother.

What happens when I die?

A run ends on death, but you keep the Sapphires collected that run. Sapphires unlock Fate Sigils — permanent Talents that buff your stats and skills across future runs. That's the long-term power path, so learn the systems before chasing speed.

Does it have co-op and crossplay?

It supports online co-op for up to 4 players (trade items, share buffs, revive downed allies). Co-op is Steam online only — as of the 1.0 launch there is no cross-platform play.

How do Artifacts and Tablets work together?

Your inventory is a buff grid: Tablets project a bonus zone to adjacent (cross-shaped) cells, and only Artifacts inside that zone get empowered. Cluster same-archetype Artifacts around a core Tablet rather than hoarding everything.
